Things To Do If You Can't Sleep (+Facts)

MANILA, Philippines - YOU CANNOT SLEEP! Aha.. I knew it.. Sleeping is an essential part of survival. Without it you will end up dead.. Seriously. Before I list down the things I think that can help you sleep, why don't we learn more about it?

Here are some facts* you probably didn't know:
  1. The average adult needs a total sleep time of 7 to 9 hours per day - it is not true that older people need less sleep however over 50% of people over 64 years old suffer from some type of sleep disorder.
  2. Brains are more active sleeping than watching TV
  3. Sleeping for over 9 hours per night (for an adult) is just as bad as sleeping 6 hours or less.
  4. Dreaming that you are taking a nap, suggests that you need to take a little time off to relax and take it easy.
  5. The body language of sleep positions reflect your personality traits!
Amazing innit? Nothing now. Just sharing. We all don't care about the facts, right?

There are two things why you ended up here. One, you want to do something TO FALL asleep. Two, you wanna do something TO HAVE FUN while you cannot sleep. Let me just tell you that I am no doctor. These things I am about to write may help you sleep, or may help you stay awake at all. Either way, read the title: THINGS TO DO.  So, try at your own risk!
1. Write a blog

Just like what I am doing right now. Did you know that it is 5:19AM right now?! Although, I am not a writer or an specialist in a specific field, I can still feel the need of writing. O ha. Writing is not a talent nor a proof of your intelligence. As long as you have thoughts to express (sorry Patrick and Spongebob) and fingers to use for typing (sorry again, Patrick) then you are as good as everyone else. Topics you say? Why not write about your life, like a diary..Dear Diary, my brother ate my apple pie and I cant get over! Or write a blog about your hobby--collecting candy wrappers! Or why not write random letters--khfkahgkhgkrhgsi--wishing someone might decode them! It is all yours, captain!

2. Play computer games

You don't have to have a PS3 or an XBOX to do this. All you need is your phone or you computer and you are good to go. Playing video games can make your brain healthier--but not too much, ok? Play something that you can relate to. Love cooking? Play Fruit Ninja! Love The Walking Dead? Play Plants VS. Zombies or the official Walking Dead game available for your computer. See? There are many things to do! Don't end up playing with yourself though. Because you don't know the outCOME may be.

3.  Listen to music

What kind of music do you like? Rock? Ballad? Kpop? Go ahead and play it! Music can help you fall asleep! And it's a good way to be happy. But don't stop there. Try to search more info about the artist, the lyrics and the music videos of the particular song you are listening to. You will be surprised to see tons of things behind that music! Sing with me now "Baby, baby, baby ohhhh..."

4. Design something

Yes. Something! Why not try to design a building. Or a new shirt for your school or organization? Or probably a car or a boat or a new Titanic. Na.. You don't have to be an artist, Little Picasso-wannabe! Just use your imagination. Imagine. I-ma-gine. Try it now!

5. Go out and grab some snacks

Walk to the nearest 7/11 or Ministop and get some snacks! Walking makes you fit but eating can make you fat but who cares? Who loves to munch that chips when nobody is there to ask for some?! Isn't it okay to be greedy sometimes? Go on. I will be waiting here. I know how much you want to eat that Lays or to drink that Cocacola. Fill that hungry tummy baby! Just be safe though, bring your dog with you or your cats, if she may be helpful.

And that's it! Hopefully you learned something today, kids!

Still can't sleep? Why not do all these things all at the same time. Ha!
