Top 5 Anime Recommendations

TOKYO, Japan - Japanese cartoons contributed to the development of most of the youngers today. No doubt, anime is what kids today watch. But for some folks out there, they haven't even seen a single anime or probably didn't even know what anime is. Anime is the Japanese version of the American cartoon (or basically - a cartoon) - ever heard of Naruto or for older folks Voltes V? Yeah, those are anime. I am listing down the top anime "for me" so there's something for you to begin with. Again, these are my picks!

5.  YuYu Hakusho (Ghost Fighter)

Created in 1992, this was one of the most popular anime in the Philippines during the 90's. Everybody knows Eugene (the protagonist - the ghost fighter.) Basically the story revolves around  a team of fighters who had to fight in an arena (freestyle fighting in a stage with the audience who looked like malnourished monsters cheering for their favorites.) Just like any sports games, the winner advances a level ahead to fight with another set of players. The story has exciting episodes that will make you say "Aww I want more!" everytime. But lucky you, there's no stopping you from watching it since you can get the whole copy online or by a DVD.

4. Detective Conan

If you like mysteries and crime, then this is the most perfect anime for you! Conan was a teenager detective who mysteriously turned into a young boy because of some magical potion. Even though his body became 3x smaller, his detective skills ala Sherlock Holmes remained intact making his quest to solve mysteries unstoppable. How? Are kids allowed in a crime scene? That's what you needed to find out. The series has a different storyline each episode so you can stop anytime you want and start at any episode you wish. The best part of watching the anime is trying to find who the real killer is. (The episodes are usually about killing, so don't let your kids watch alone.)

3. Hunter X Hunter

Nostalgia. My family like this anime so much, we even purchased a whole set of DVD of the whole series. The story is about a young boy named Gon who has the primary goal of finding his estranged father. But in order to do so, Gon must become a licensed hunter first. Hunters are skilled people with their own specialty in a variety of fields. They are hired to do special tasks that normal people cannot do. But in order to be a hunter, aspirants must do very frustrating and stressful tests in which they must pass in order to level up. Believe me, the tests are so difficult, you would think licensed hunters must be real gods because they passed them. Gon is one of the youngest person who will take the test and his weapon? A fishing rod.

2. Death Note

If you are one those people who would like to stay away from the mainstream anime (mainstream is this: a group of friends fighting in a battle arena defeating the boss and then learning that there's another boss stronger than it and it goes on and on and on.) then this is the anime you are looking for. The story is very simple, a highschool boy found a notebook from the underworld (but it fell from the sky,) and whoever he writes on it would die. You can even manipulate the cause of death and the time of death. Amazing huh? But hey, this anime is very controversial. Some real kids even have their own 'toy' copies of this notebook (from novelty shops, of course) and wrote names of the people they hate. How scary huh! Okay, so going back, the student used the book to try change the world. And that's how exciting it will be. There will be parts of the anime that will make you feel gloomy. Well, I don't really know but in my case I felt like I am becoming evil watching it. It's so depressing. LOL. But anyhow, this is a must see, definitely one of the best anime ever made.

1. Fairy Tail

If you want a family-oriented anime, then this is the one I recommend. If there's an anime that doesn't show so much blood and deaths then this must be it. Fairy Tail is an anime revolving around Fairy Tail. But what is that? Fairy Tail is a name of a guild - a group of powerful mages with different skills and classes. Guild takes jobs from people - whether it be monster invasion or home cleaning services, they handle that as long as they are paid well. The story is full of adventure, comedy, drama and "astigness" that no ever anime has. Although I believe its primary target are the  younger audience, I fell in love with the TV show because of the TWISTS. This has full of it that will make you come back for more. And there are girls with bikinis, too.

I hope you guys liked my list. I have seen some of Naruto and Bleach and One Piece but I was never hooked on their storylines. I am a guy who becomes bored easily so please do understand. Hey what are you waiting for? Watch 'em now. You may try this site: http://www.animecrazy.net
